State Retirees Could See Help for Insurance Rates
Cheyenne, WY – State retirees could get some help thanks to an amendment on the House version of the budget bill. The house agreed to put six point seven million dollars into the budget to help retirees pay for rising insurance costs. The issue has been divisive and many small business owners oppose the proposal. But Cheyenne Representative Pete Illoway says there is a great need. Cody Representative Alan Jones says many of the retirees left their jobs early, and Sheridan Representative Jack Landon argued that small business people are also paying high insurance rates and nobody is offering them help.
