Cheyenne, WY – The state Senate passed a bill that would change the state's eminent domain law today. But the Senate decided against an amendment that supporters say would have prevented lawsuits. It would have kept any settlement between a landowner and the company or public entity that is trying to use the land...private. Senator Charlie Scott says by killing the amendment, legislators got rid of a good part of the law. But Senator Phil Nicholas was among those who disputed the claim. He says the bill as it is now levels the playing field. And he says making information public is a better policy.
