State signs off on revenue sharing offer to SkyWest

Gillette, WY – The Wyoming Aeronautics Commission has signed off on a one-year revenue guarantee for SkyWest Airlines to fly between Gillette and Salt Lake City.

Under the deal with Gillette and Campbell County, SkyWest wouldn't pay landing fees or rent at the airport.

Also, the city and county would make payments to SkyWest unless it makes a profit.

The deal would cost the local governments nearly $1 million.

The County Commission approved the arrangement and sent it to the state commission, which approved the arrangement Friday.

SkyWest has yet to agree to the offer but has been involved in negotiations.
