Laramie, WY – A state task force is trying to decide what to do about wind energy. The group met today and their questions were many, including what role the state should play in regulating the industry. Most see wind energy as a positive for the state and even for some landowners. But Senator Jim Anderson of Glenrock says they also need to look at the risks wind development might pose. "Somehow in this we need to get an idea of long term associated consequence," Anderson said. "That's economic, that's environmental, it's all of it. So that Wyoming people have a long term view of what will happen when this happens."
A number of interest groups from landowners to industry will develop a list of issues to be addressed, and present them to the task force in late August.
