The C-E-O of the Wind River Casino says gambling operations are giving an economic boon to Fremont County. Jim Conrad says the casino commissioned a study by an independent group to measure its economic impact. He says the study showed that the casino has generated 500 new jobs and about one-point-five million dollars in additional sales tax revenue for the state in 2008. Critics claim the casino has generated other unwanted impacts, like traffic and gambling addiction. But Conrad says he's tried to address that.
Conrad says up to 2-thousand people visit the casino every weekend. The casino opened on the reservation in June.
