Target Practice Leads to Wildfire

Laramie, Wy – A wildfire is burning at the Army National Guard training Center. It started during some target practice and has burned about a thousand acres. Members of the National Guard and local firefighters are trying to contain the fire.
A spokesperson for the National Guard, Diedre Forster says the fire is not threatening any homes and is completely on the training site. Even with the fire she says the facility is still operating as normal.
The training center does have restrictions on some pyrotechnics because of the dry weather. But, Forster says the target practice was something they were allowed to do.
The unit doing the target practice was from South Dakota.
