Teton Bighorn Sheep numbers are good

Jackson, WY – A Wyoming Game and Fish biologist says a recent aerial survey shows the Teton Bighorn Sheep Herd shows good population numbers for rams and lambs.

Biologist Doug Brimeyer says he counted 81 sheep during a helicopter survey March 28 that covered an area from the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to the north end of Grand Teton National Park.

Brimeyer says the population is "a little better" than what biologists anticipated, even though it's lower than a count of 96 on March 2008. Brimeyer says the mild winter made the sheep harder
to count.
