Laramie, WY – With the latest AFL-CIO study placing Wyoming 47th in the nation for worker safety, the Wyoming Trial Lawyers association says it wants to be part of the solution through a campaign it is calling safety first. Association President Bryan Ulmer says that one change he would like to see is more of a focus on prevention as opposed to responding to injuries after they happen.
"It would be ideal if employees and employers both had the benefit of OSHA's expertise and guidance and education, to prevent these kinds of injuries before they happen."
Ulmer says the state and industry could also do more to promote workplace safety, but he says workers also need to be part of the solution by making sure safety precautions are followed.
