Laramie, Wyo. – A truck rolled over on I-80 in Cheyenne this morning spilling 200 gallons of hot tar.
The truck full of tar was headed on Interstate 80 from Nebraska to Denver, when the driver tried to take the exit for I-25 South.
"The driver lost control on the off-ramp about half-way up and the ramp and the tanker rolled over onto its top," says Highway Patrol Spokesman Stephen Townsend.
The driver was treated for cuts and bruises at the scene and given a ticket for going too fast for conditions. Firefighters confined the spilled tar, but Townsend says the cleanup will take a few more hours. He says the spill is not a threat to any waterways.
