Unemployment rate stays flat

Cheyenne, WY – Wyoming's unemployment rate in April was the same as it was in March, 4. 5 percent.
Federal job figures out Friday show Wyoming with the nation's third-lowest unemployment rate.
The nationwide unemployment rate reached 8.9 percent in April, highest in a quarter-century.
Although Wyoming's unemployment rate is relatively low, unemployment in the state has risen sharply since late last year.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says North Dakota had the
nation's lowest unemployment rate at 4 percent. Nebraska came in
second at 4.4 percent.
Wyoming had the nation's lowest unemployment rate in December, 3.4 percent. In February, it was 3.7 percent.
