Elizabeth Hardin is U-W's vice president of administration. She
says the university wants to buy the houses, but the owners have to
be willing to sell.
Eighty-seven-year-old Adeline Backer has lived in one of the
homes since 1953. She said she is not interested in moving, but she
wonders if she will be pressured to do so.
