US House committee will meet in Cheyenne

Laramie, WY – U.S. House of Representatives' Agriculture Committee has scheduled a field hearing in Cheyenne. The committee will discuss the bark beetle epidemic, forest health and conservation of farm and ranchland.
Republican U.S. Rep. Cynthia Lummis, a member of the committee, said Friday the hearing is an opportunity for Congress members to learn about the challenges facing Wyoming forest managers, ranchers and farmers.
Lummis said the meeting will be at 8 a.m. May 4 at Laramie County Community College. The hearing is open to the public.
Lummis, who's running for re-election this year, says she's looking out for the interests of Wyoming agricultural producers as Congress prepares to negotiate a new farm bill.
