UW Extends Contract for Buchanan

Laramie, Wy – One more year for U-W interim President Tom Buchanan, who says he wouldn't mind leading the university for even longer than that.
University trustees Friday approved a one-year contract extension for Buchanan.
Buchanan became interim president last July following the resignation of President Phil Dubois. With the
extension, Buchanan's contract now extends through June 30th, 2007.
Buchanan says the fact that he's been interim president for this
long shows that he'd be interested in being president beyond even
his new, one-year contract.
He says the biggest challenges ahead for U-W include implementing the new Hathaway Scholarship program and establishing a new School of Energy Resources.
