UW Makes Fundraising Goal
Laramie, Wy – The University of Wyoming says its major fundraising campaign ended well above its goal of 125 million dollars. At a wrap up ceremony, University officials say they raised 204 million dollars. While they did fall short in their goal for academics, all other areas either met or smashed the previous goal. Campaign Chairman and Former U-S Senator Al Simpson says people were thrilled to help the University and he praised legislators for providing millions in matching dollars to push people even further. But Simpson adds that when you consider a state with only 500 thousand residents raised 204 million dollars, it is incredible. President Tom Buchanan noted a long list of programs and projects that were aided by the fundraising. He says it will benefit U-W for years to come.
