UW Tries To Be Safer
Laramie, Wy – University of Wyoming officials are working to implement several new safety measures next fall in response to
campus tragedies like the Virginia Tech shootings.
The added safety measures includes an anonymous tip line, a
memorandum of understanding with local law enforcement and faster
communications to alert the campus community of danger.
One new initiative the university is looking at is text
messaging and other ways of getting the word out faster to the
campus community in times of an emergency.
Universities throughout the nation have been looking at what
they can do to improve safety and protect students, staff and
faculty after the April Virginia Tech shootings.
