Victim Services Division says Bill of Rights not enforced

Laramie, WY – The head of Wyoming's victim services division says more could be done to enforce the victims' Bill of Rights. Julie Tennant-Caine says victims of violent crimes in Wyoming have the right to know if their assailant has been arrested, and to be present during court hearings, among other rights.

On the other hand, Tennant-Caine says her division was bolstered this legislative session when a bill was passed that forces those convicted of a violent crime to pay more restitution. April 13 through the 19 is National Crime Victims' Rights Week.
