Park City, Utah – Western Governors are pleased with initiatives that they say will allow for the building of energy transmission corridors while protecting wildlife. Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer says they have determined areas that are appropriate for wind farms and transmission lines."We know that wildlife need to move from point a to point b. So we need to build these transmission corridors in a way that is conducive to the type of wildlife we have. So the Western Governors have taken the lead."
Schweitzer says the effort was led by Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal. Schweitzer says protecting wildlife is very important to western officials.
