Wildlife Trust Doles Out Grants
Laramie, Wy – The new Wyoming Wildlife and Natural
Resource Trust has handed out its first grants.
The board overseeing the trust fund Thursday in Gillette provided one-point-three million dollars to 31 conservation projects statewide.
The trust fund was created by the 2005 Legislature to preserve and improve wildlife habitat and open spaces in the state.
Projects winning money included one to restore habitat on the Thunder Basin National Grassland, stream restoration in Uinta County and conservation easements in the Big Horn Basin and Sublette County.
Applications for a second round of grants are due September 30th.
