Wind Power Conference Concerned About Tax Credits
Denver, CO – With high gas prices and new technology, wind energy producers say this could be a landmark year for the industry. But for that trend to continue producers gathered at a conference in Denver this week say the federal government needs to extend a tax credit due to run out at the end of the year. The issue is now being considered by Congress. Legislation in the US House does not contain the credit and it's expected to be debated in the Senate this week. Assistant Interior Secretary Rebecca Watson told the conference yesterday that the Bush administration supports renewable energy and the extension of the tax credits.
