Winney Favors More State Control Of Health Care

Laramie, WY – A Republican running for the U.S. House of Representatives says government-run health care will not improve the country's insurance woes. Candidate Bill Winney says he prefers a system that makes private insurance generally available to everyone.

Winney drew parallels to auto insurance, which allows people of all backgrounds to choose a variety of plans. He says the problem now is that insurance companies can choose who they want to insure.

Winney says he encourages state and federal government to experiment with laws that require insurance companies to make coverage available to everyone.
