Laramie, WY – Wildlife officials say there have been three reported sightings of wolves in Sweetwater County over the last year.
Mike Jimenez (hih-MEN'-ez) of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says one wolf was hit by a car while two other wolves may have drifted south into Utah or were shot.
Wolves wandering into Sweetwater County are likely loners and not part of a pack.
Jimenez says that anyone spotting a wolf should contact him at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
There were about 300 wolves in Wyoming in 2009 and 449 wolves in the Greater Yellowstone region.
