Woman Dies In The Storm

Cheyenne, Wy – A Laramie County woman died last night
(Wednesday night) after her car became stuck in a blizzard and she
tried to walk for help -- the first reported Wyoming fatality from
the storm.
Gerry Luce is spokesman for the Laramie County Sheriff's
Department.
Luce says searchers found the body of 61-year-old Alice Lloyd
just before midnight yesterday (Wednesday).
Lloyd's car became stuck on county roads about 8 miles north of
the town of Hillsdale yesterday (Wednesday) evening. Lloyd left her
daughter in the car and tried to walk for help.
Luce says Lloyd wasn't dressed appropriately for the blizzard
conditions. He said searchers found her body in the driveway of a
residence in the area.
Luce says authorities encourage motorists to stay with their
vehicles in such situations. He says motorists should carry
blankets, sleeping bags, emergency food and other gear. He says
that it's extremely easy to become disoriented walking in
snowstorms.
