Laramie, WY – Kathy Emmons announced today (Thursday)
she will resign as head of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services effective January 15th. Emmons has been in the job since March 2002. She gave no reason for why she was leaving -- saying she wasn't sure what her next career opportunity will be. In the statement, Governor Freudenthal thanked Emmons for her work and her leadership on issues ranging from quality childcare to workforce training. In the coming weeks, a nominee to replace Emmons will be named
and the confirmation process will start.
