Wright Elementary School Eyes 4-Day Week

Gillette, WY – School officials in Wright are asking
parents to consider a four-day school week, with longer school days Monday through Thursday -- and NO classes on Fridays.
Alan Burke is the principal of Cottonwood Elementary School. He says there are two factors behind the idea: Too many students miss Fridays anyway because of sports or other activities, and too many teachers miss Fridays because of professional development
responsibilities.
School officials mailed surveys to all Wright parents yesterday (Monday), hoping to get feedback. If enough people support the idea, it will go to the school trustees.
