WY Will Pay Part of Supercomputer Costs

Cheyenne, WY – The Wyoming legislature will need to determine how much it will contribute to bring a supercomputer center to Cheyenne. Speaker of the House Roy Cohee is a big fan of the project. Several officials have discussed the new 60 million dollar data facility and Cohee says it will go a long way toward diversifying Wyoming's economy. The supercomputer will be larger then any existing computer in the world and officials say it will attract researchers and entrepreneurs to the state. Wyoming officials are being asked to spend 20 million dollars of upfront construction costs. The facility should open in 2010.
