Wyo. delegation critical of tapping oil reserves

Cheyenne, Wyo. – Wyoming's Republican congressional delegation is critical of the Obama administration's decision to release 30 million barrels of oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

Sen. John Barrasso says the administration should halt its efforts to hamper U.S. energy production.

He says the White House has blocked offshore oil and gas production and made it more difficult to produce energy onshore.

Rep. Cynthia Lummis says tapping the oil reserves will do little to ease the energy crisis. She accused the Obama administration of exploiting the oil reserves in the name of political gain.

Sen. Mike Enzi says the administration's action recognizes that it must boost oil supplies but it continues to impede U.S. energy production that would increase domestic supplies.
