Laramie, Wyo. – Gov. Dave Freudenthal says a meeting with Democratic governors and prospective Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama led to discussions about energy and infrastructure.
Freudenthal says the discussion about energy indicated that the issue will continue to evolve with respect to carbon management, the future of the nation's energy supply and questions about transmission.
I am encouraged that there is a focus on questions of energy," the governor says. "I'm not entirely convinced that those discussions are complete yet with either of the candidates or really even as a country.
The two-day meeting in Chicago was the first step in a move by Obama to hear directly from governors about the challenges faced by their states.
