Laramie, WY – A number of Wyoming churches - ranging from Methodist to Roman Catholic to Baptist - are backing climate change legislation.
The Wyoming Association of Churches has written letters to Wyoming's Congressional delegation, in support of legislation to reduce carbon emissions. Association Executive Director John Peacock says nine different denominations make up their group, "but we all share a common understanding of scripture that God created the world and called it good, and has given humanity responsibility for it, but certainly not license to abuse it."
Peacock says the association will continue to address this issue at its meetings, and will keep a close eye on climate change legislation as it moves through Congress.
