Wyoming Economy Picks Up Based On Employment Numbers

LARAMIE, wyo – The state department of employment says that Wyoming added three thousand jobs in October compared to 2009 figures from the same month. Most of the increase came from what are called Natural Resource and mining jobs.

State Senior Economist David Bullard says it's the 4th straight month of moderate growth for the state. He calls that good news

"Unemployment is higher than it's been, but still lower than most places," says Bullard. "We have the 7th lowest unemployment rate in the 50 states and job growth seems to be picking up."

Bullard says that compared with October of 2009 unemployment fell in all counties except Teton.
