Wyoming Flooding, No Big Surprise
Riverton, Wy – National Weather Service Hydrologist Jim Fahey has been watching the flooding from his office in Riverton. He says so far, flooding has been restricted to ag lands and areas without people.
Fahey says throughout Wyoming history, flooding has been typical in years with a heavy snow pack. He thinks flooding has attracted a lot of attention this year, because it has been awhile sinc While flooding can cause some problems for landowners, most of the floods Wyoming has seen will have little impact on human life.e the snow pack was this good. Fahey says in many ways the flooding is good news.
