Wyoming Groups File Suit In Wolf Case
Cheyenne, Wy –
A group calling itself the Wolf Coalition is suing the federal government over its rejection of Wyoming's wolf management plan and for the federal governments failure and refusal to properly manage wolves. Attorney Harriet Hageman says the coalition is a group of 27 associations, entities and counties. Among their issues is that the state released a plan for managing wolves around the national parks, but the U-S Fish and Wildlife service has implied that they want wolves to thrive throughout the state. But she contends that was "never the deal".
Hageman says the Fish and Wildlife service also went back on its word of letting the state manage wolves after recovery goals have been met. Hageman says they want Wyoming's plan adopted and they want the federal government to properly manage wolves as well. The suit was filed in Wyoming's U-S District Court.
