Wyoming Kicks Off Through with Chew Week
Laramie, Wy – The manager of Wyoming's program to help people quit using spit tobacco says people in the state use chewing tobacco at nearly twice the national average. Niki Sue Mueller runs the Through with Chew Program. She says a reason for the high use is the ads tobacco companies run. They often use cowboys, rodeo stars and athletes from extreme sports.
Next Sunday is the beginning of Through with Chew week. Mueller says 120 dentists from around Wyoming will offer screenings and cleanings for people trying to quit using spit tobacco.
