Wyoming lawyer saw dangers of toys firsthand

Laramie, WY – A Cheyenne attorney says some toys can present hidden dangers. Terry Mackey says he learned about this when he represented the family of a boy who was seriously injured by a Polly Pocket toy. Mackey says the risks come from the fact that a lot of toys come from outside the country, "When your buyers are out there, and they're relying upon the manufacturers in various foreign market places, you're relying upon a far less sophisticated system, in terms of enforcement of the rules and regulations."
Meanwhile, the U-S Consumer Protection Safety Administration says toy related injuries are up 54 percent over the last ten years. They are asking for better testing and safety measures from toy distributers.
