Cheyenne, Wy – The Wyoming Legislature is nearly ready to draw to a close, but plenty of work remains to be done. Both the House and the Senate are off on Monday. Once they convene, they will be appointing conferees to reconcile differences in their respective budget amendments this week.
The House and Senate each proposes to spend about $250 million in their versions of the supplemental budget bill.
Republican House Speaker Ed Buchanan of Torrington and Republican Senate President Jim Anderson of Glenrock say the two houses aren't far apart on their budget amendments.
In other action this week, the House this will likely consider a bill that would allow Wyoming citizens to carry handguns without a permit.
The Legislature is scheduled to adjourn the following week, on Thurs., March 3.
