Wyoming Looks At A Gaming Commission

Lander, Wyoming –
A Joint Legislative Committee is looking into starting up a Wyoming Gaming Commission. The reason is because gambling issues in Wyoming are starting to become more complex. Senator Bruce Burns chairs the Senate Travel, Recreation and Wildlife Committee. He says they want to set up a subcommittee to look at the issue. "The currently gambling going on with bingo and so forth around the state. There is no regulation, no controlling who's doing it, no accounting for the money or where it is going."
Burns says the legislature still needs to answer policy questions about gambling. One issue the committee may ask the public about, is joining a multi-state lottery. They are considering a non-binding referendum to determine once and for all what the public thinks about the issue.
