Wyoming Ranchers Nervous
Laramie, Wy – The Wyoming Farm Bureau President admits her members are scared about what is happening with beef markets following the discovery of Mad Cow Disease in Washington State. Karen Henry says coupled with brucellosis in Wyoming, the whole industry is very nervous especially since the Wyoming cattle industry has been battling a drought. Henry says many have already lost money, and if the foreign markets disappear it will be devastation. She says low prices impact Wyoming worse because the climate keeps farmers and ranchers from diversifying.
