Laramie, WY – A former Wyoming game warden is delighted with enhanced efforts to protect the Wyoming Range. Afton resident Duane Hyde was in Washington this week to try to convince lawmakers to offer protections to fish, wildlife and water resources from energy development. Congress will soon be debating a measure that could rework parts of the energy bill to provide more wildlife protection and Hyde is excited about a measure being developed by Senator Craig Thomas that would eliminate future leasing from the Wyoming Range. Hyde notes that current leases would still be allowed, but groups like Trout Unlimited are working to raise money to buy back those leases. He says all three members of Wyoming's delegation indicated support for protecting the Wyoming Range.
