Wyoming will work on national test
Laramie, WY – Wyoming will join more than 30 other states in developing a new language arts and math test for students.
The Wyoming Board of Education voted recently to join the SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortium, which is developing the new standardized test.
By joining the group, Wyoming will have a say in terms of what the new test will look like.
Alan Moore of the state Education Department says the new test is expected to be implemented in 2014 and could replace the standardized test used in Wyoming at that time.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports the new test will be based on the national common core standards for math and language arts that were approved last summer.
