Wyoming wind farms don't meet expectations

Laramie, WY – Some of Rocky Mountain Power's wind farms in Wyoming didn't produce as much wind energy as expected last year.
The Utah-based utility says wind conditions were relatively poor in 2009 and it's not appropriate to judge the accuracy of projected wind energy for projects that have only been operating for a year or two.
This information came out during Wyoming Public Service Commission hearings over the utility's proposed rate hike. The commission is set to deliberate and possibly decide on the rate hike Friday.
