Laramie, WY – Park workers captured and killed a black bear at Yellowstone National Park over the weekend. This came after the bear raided campsites and charged at some tourists.
The bear took food from picnic tables, tents, and coolers Saturday at the Canyon Campground. Park officials say he broke into one vehicle and walked on the tops of others, trying to get into the cars.
Officials used pepper spray and hazing in an attempt to move the bear away from people. Those efforts failed and he eventually left on his own, but returned to the campground later Saturday. He was captured in a baited trap, and then euthanized.
