Yellowstone earthquake recorded
Yellowstone National Park, WY – A magnitude 3.7 earthquake was recorded in northwestern Yellowstone National Park Wednesday. The Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology says there were no immediate reports of damage.
Mike Stickney of the bureau's earthquake studies office in Butte, Mont., says the quake happened at 2:37 p.m. It was one of several in the Yellowstone area Wednesday.
He says there have been small quakes in the Yellowstone area during the past week or so, and that's not unusual for the park.
Stickney says he wouldn't be surprised if some people felt the 3.7 quake, but it probably did not damage property.
