Yellowstone Fire Still Zero Percent Contained
Laramie, WY – The fire burning near the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park slowed down its expansion today, but it's still zero percent contained. Cooler, wetter conditions kept the fire at bay this morning, but by the afternoon, the winds picked up, and so did the fire. It hasn't traveled very far, but Terina Mullen of the fire management team says a lack of crew members has prevented them from containing the fire. She says the other problem is that many areas are too dangerous to enter for the few crew members they do have. For example, the terrain is steep and rocky and has many dead trees that could fall on firefighters without warning.
