Yellowstone reservations pick up

Cheyenne, Wy – After a very slow start, reservations at Yellowstone National Park are picking up and now the main tourism vendor believes that it is going to be a decent year for tourism. Xanterra's Rick Hoeninghousen now predicts that visitation to the park will at least be as good as last year. He says vacations to places like Yellowstone are viewed as good values. "Traditionally a place like Yellowstone or a national park tends to do well in softer economies."
Houeinghousen says they predicted that people would wait until the last second to book vacations this summer, and recent reservations show that is happening. But he adds that there is an unusually high number of vacancies that are typically not available this late in May, that area residents can take advantage of.
