You will hear this message often during the Spring 2014 Fund Drive. And it’s true – more than 60% of WPM’s operating funding comes from members like you, businesses large and small, and corporations. That pledge you made last year is funding a segment of Morning Edition, or Open Spaces, or Classical/Jazz Music.. Every time you listen to anything on any one of our channels, you’re hearing your dollars at work.
Thank you for your dedication and support for Wyoming Public Media! You often hear us say that YOU, the individual, are our most stable source of revenue. I can't stress this point enough. While state and federal funding reacts to the economy, your individual support remains true.
This morning we learned that NPR President and CEO, Gary Knell, will be leaving NPR for a new position as CEO at the National Geographic Society. We are sad to see Gary leave NPR – he was a strong CEO and a solid friend of Wyoming Public Media. We’re glad that he is joining the National Geographic Society – another organization whose mission is to educate and enlighten people everywhere.
