The Governor remembers Martin Luther King Junior

Wyoming Governor Matt Mead and First Lady Carol Mead marched in a ceremony in Cheyenne remembering Doctor Martin Luther King Junior today/Monday.  Mead honored King during a speech on the Capitol steps.

“Dr. King was a man who never gave up on his fundamental beliefs.  He never gave up on the civil rights movement, he never gave up on using a peaceful means as a way to bring about social change.”

Mead also noted that King deserves our thanks.

“Thank you to Dr. King, whose life work rung the bell of freedom.  Rung the bell of civil liberty and equality.  The bell that continues to ring because his strike of this bell was true, was brave and it was forever.”

Mead said that King was a man of his convictions.
