Musher goes for his 3rd straight title in the IPSSSDR

The 17th annual International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog race kicks of tonight in Jackson.  The event ends February 4th in Park City, Utah.  Buddy Streeper has won the event three times and is the two time defending champion.  He says the key is to start quickly and maintain that effort.

“Well that’s the unique thing about this format. Every stage is so critical throughout it.  It’s not a one or two day event where you can get away with having a mediocre run.  This race here with the caliber that’s competing, you have to have a good run, a good average and a good pace throughout the whole event.”

22 teams and mushers from as far away as Scotland will be competing.  The event is the biggest sled dog race in the lower 48 states.
