Morning Music with Grady Kirkpatrick on Wyoming Public Radio

Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - Noon

The program has a rich tradition providing listeners a contemporary mix with a variety of styles including singer/songwriters, folk, acoustic, rock, r&b, blues, world, and reggae.  New music is a big part of the mix as well as artists from Wyoming and the Rocky Mountain region.  You'll also hear live music/interview sessions. NPR news updates are provided at the top of the hour along with regional weather and the Events Calendar airs Wednesday through Friday at 11:04am.

Paul Montoya is the new co-host for Morning Music.  Grady Kirkpatrick continues as host Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Paul covers Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as occasional fill-ins during the week

A bluegrass band with Wyoming connections will be holding its breath at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night. That’s because Della Mae’s recording ‘This World Oft Can Be’ is up for Best Bluegrass Album. Wyoming Public Radio’s Micah Schweizer reports.

MICAH SCHWEIZER: Late last year, late at night, the band was on the road in Tennessee when they heard the news. Shelby Means, who plays bass and sings harmony, says the band was packed into a van with their soundman at the wheel.

Birgit has been writing songs, singing, and playing various musical instruments most of her life as well. Their songwriting, guitar playing and mandolin playing lift elements from 1920’s blues, old-time, Appalachian folk and country western.
