Climb Wyoming says it will discontinue its Sweetwater County program due to a decrease in public funding and other considerations. The non-profit organization trains and places single mothers into career-track jobs.
Climb Wyoming’s Shannon Brooks Hamby said that the Sweetwater County Operation will shut down on October first despite the fact that the program was very successful.

Wyoming women made only 64 cents for every dollar that men in the state made. That amounts to an annual wage gap of over $18,000 dollars.

According to 2011 data, Wyoming once again ranks fifty-first in the nation among all states and the District of Columbia when it comes to the wage gap between men and women. The study analyzed census data and found that women in Wyoming make only 66 cents for every dollar that men earn.

Diane Wolverton of the Wyoming Smart Capital Network says the conference, SHE! a virtual business conference for Wyoming women, will discuss ways women can create their own business opportunities.
